10 reasons NOT to visit Budapest
Of course there is always something you don't like, some bad experiences that you make... here is my list:
1. Budapest is definitely not a city for allergic people like me. Haven't had such a terrible hay fever for ages.
2. No matter if on the street, in pubs, public places or restaurants and cafes: Hungary has no law to protect people from passive smoking because you can smoe ANYWHERE you want.
3. Try to enjoy a yummy Hungarian goulash soup when at all tables next to you someone is having a cigarette.
4. It seems like 90 percent of the people smoke so no matter where you go you ALWAYS smell of it.
5. Because everyone around you is smoking the hay fever gets worse and worse.
6. You need at least twice as many clothes as usually when you go to Budapest because if you don't have the opportunity of washing your clothes daily there's no way of wearing them twice because they stink so bad.
7. I think you get the idea of why you shouldn't go to Budapest.
8. Compare this list to why you SHOULD go to Budapest and figure out for yourself what I'm trying to tell you ;-)
9. You still don't understand what I'm trying to tell you? Budapest is a GREAT city to go to. Just prepare yourself for this little nuisance and you'll have a great time.
10. By the way - there actually ARE a few non-smoking places like Castro's Buffet near Deak Ferenc Ter and the food-section @Szimpla (even though in Szimpla people ignore the few non-smoking signs and even the waitress is smoking behind the counter though she seems to be pregnant...).

10 reasons to visit Budapest
Finally found some time to tell you a little bit about my short trip to Hungary's capital. To make it more representable I'll split my reports in little sections starting with the most important reasons to visit Budapest. The numbers do not represent any priorities, their order is randomly picked.
1. Party, culture, relaxation? There's something in Budapest for everyone to see and do.
2. The people are always helpful, whether you speak Hungarian (which I don't), English or German (met more people who spoke German than English to be honest).
3. People even help you if they have no clue at all. So it can happen that you end up in the wrong part of the city because someone was sooo sure the bus you asked him about is the right one to take. But still you can have the best conversations even at 2.30 in the morning at a bus stop somewhere in Budapest.
4. The view from the Citadel is breathtaking!
5. People you've only met a few hours ago surprise you with a piece of cake, a candle and sing Happy Birthday for you.
6. You can sit on the steps of the Basilica of St. Stephens thinking about what to do next, then meet some very nice people from Latvia and Finland and spend the next hours talking about volunteer programs, couchsurfing and just hang out together.
7. Everything in Budapest is so cheap compared to German prices.
8. You neither mind losing at table soccer nor the traditional argument with a Bavarian because there are so many other things to do that are more important and way too much fun = D
9th They have Maras at the zoo!
10th You just never get bored in Budapest.

I just decided to blog today only to be in English. Most people I know speak this language - as opposed to German - and I would give my friends and acquaintances outside the Federal Republic the opportunity to stay on fairy tale adventure in the picture. Anyone who knows me will understand this step and can understand :-)

Tourimarkt
made yesterday with the Steffi ne city tour of Leipzig - unfortunately chose the wrong company. Last year, I'm with Nic and Micah made a great tour with great nightlife Saxon clippers . For 19,50 € there were even the entrance to the Panorama Tower and a glass of sparkling wine.
I would have to do this time. Instead, we are at Royal London bus landed . What ne disappointment. They have first of all, namely once majestic prices - and cheat the bargain king. Just wanted to make two-hour ne Stadttrundfahrt - 14 €. Well, we thought, is still alive. A look at the flyer showed us later that the easy route but costs only 9 €. The guy had us sold for 14 € a day ticket for the hop-on hop-off tour that we did NOT explicitly.
A statement by the bus driver to go? "The 9 € apply only to the last ride of the day." HÄH ?!?!? And why if you please dsa is not so on top of the flyer? "If a misunderstanding." All right.
If you come to Leipzig. FINGER OFF THE ROYAL LONDON BUS! Absolutely not recommended. We were not the only ones who have fallen on the date on it and wondered, why do they pay more than stated in the brochure (which you get of course only after you have purchased the ticket at the slimy street vendors).
The ride itself was unfortunately anything but refreshing. 'm Almost asleep. In a monotonous voice droned down the sniveling asthma type all the data and facts to which no one remembers anyway more. No funny stories, not anecdotes, not a bissl humor. Next time I'll take back the Clippers. Since there was much more FÜS money!
